The Armenian Government decided today to extend the state of emergency until June 13, Armradio reports.
Addressing the government sitting today, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said there is no alternate to extending the state of emergency.
While no strict restrictions will be imposed, it will allow to organize certain activities, he said.
“Sometimes we need to establish special entry and exit regime in certain settlements due to the threat of the spread of the coronavirus, and this is only possible under the state of emergency,” the Prime Minister said.
Besides, he emphasized the importance of the Commandant’s Office, which can only function under the state of emergency.
PM Pashinyan also referred to the “conspiracy theory” with many believing the coronavirus is a bluff.
